The Salesians

The Salesians are the largest world wide order of Catholic Priests and Brothers that work specifically with young people in over 130 countries. They were founded by a priest in Turin in 1800s and dedicated to the optimistic humanism of St Francis de Sales.

 

One of Don Bosco's most important statements is:

Young people not only need to be loved, 
they need to know that they are loved.

 

This holistic, heart centered approach is the basis of our reasonable, respectful and reverent way of living as a community and working with the young. The ability to be present with young people with that maturity and gentleness is the doorway to a Salesian vocation.
